			<description><![CDATA[<p>From time to time, we post some helpful tips to save you money&nbsp;and keep your machines running well.</p><p> Attached a photo to show the difference clogged venting can make when it comes to air flow.</p><p><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; background-color: initial;"><u><br></u></b></p><p><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; background-color: initial;"><u>APPLIANCE TIP: &nbsp;CHECK YOUR DRYER VENTING</u></b></p><p>If you have a Dryer that's taking multiple cycles to get your clothes dry, it's usually</p><p>because your venting is clogged or smashed - decreasing the air flow to remove moisture.</p><p> Emptying your lint filter after each load, checking&nbsp;your vent pipe for restrictions,</p><p>and removing said restrictions, can help you get more life out of your dryer and help you avoid repair fees.</p><p>* It is common for a clogged vent system to cause fuses to burn out,</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;leading to a service call to replace the broken parts.</p><p>** Side Note, if your washer isn't spinning out the clothes well,&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; overly wet clothes that are put in a dryer could be the cause of the increased dry time</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; as well.&nbsp;</p><p>*** Warning, in drastic instances, clogged venting can be the cause of a house fire!!!</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; So, if you need a referral for Professional Vent Cleaning Service let us know.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; As always, we will do anything we can to help you with your needs.</p><p>Wishing you a very long life with your appliances.&nbsp;We are here when you need us.</p><p>Jason</p><p>APPLIANCE CITY</p><p>4046 NE Cully Blvd</p><p>Portland, OR 97213</p><p>503-281-8811</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><strong><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">UNLESS YOU CAN BE BATMAN, THEN ALWAYS BE BATMAN.</span></span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">Every business has a culture and that culture emanates from it's founder and the guy or girl in charge.&nbsp;</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">The word "culture" comes to us from early Latin and means to cultivate. It means to cultivate the spirit, the minds and ideals of a group. To "cultivate" means to expand and to grow in quality and quantity.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">So the question begs, what culture has Mike Usselman, the longtime and current owner of Appliance City Portland cultivated.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">Which brings us right back to Batman. We all know Batman very well. He's the good guy. But what are the qualities of Batman. Kindness, compassion, strength, justness, honesty. An ethical and moral obligation. An ability to do the right thing.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">In the last couple of months I've had the privilege to get to hang out with the Appliance City crew and Mike. I made a very interesting discovery for myself. The Batman qualities are alive and well and actually woven into the very fabric of the people and the business at Appliance City.&nbsp;</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">You see it's not odd to find Mike and his family of a weekend helping out the homeless in downtown Portland. It's not odd to find them helping lots of people actually.&nbsp;</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 18px;"><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125);">Mike and his family and crew have the ability to help people. Not for personal gain, but just to help.
